Follow-Up to Module 5

In Module 5, we discussed exercise, and the new understanding of the neuroplasticity of the brain.  Through particularly aerobic activities, the brain has the capability to "rewire" neural circuits in the brain.  These new pathways may result in improved balance, gait, and perhaps even cognition and mood.  The graphic on the left is a nice summary of how exercise and neuroplasticity result in a slowing, or even a halting of PD's progression.  Yes, we can alter the trajectory of this disease.  Click on the image for a full size version.
